The episode of ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” featuring the Girard Family of Voluntown, CT, aired Sunday. The builders, volunteers and members of the public joined the Girards at the MGM Grand Theater to watch the show. Behind all of the made-for-TV drama is the story of a family who went through a terrible tragedy and a community that helped them rebuild.
