Peter Huoppi is Director of Multimedia at The Day of New London, CT. His work there includes live mutli-camera streaming of local high school sports, the crime podcasts “Case Unsolved” and “Looking for the Todt Family” and the documentary film “Those People” about a group of young people’s response to violence in their city. Since 2017, he has been The Day’s liaison to Trusting News, an organization dedicated to building trust between journalists and their audience. Before The Day, Peter studied at Middlebury College and worked as a photojournalist at The Burlington Free Press in Burlington, VT. He earned a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri in 2019 and teaches journalism courses at Eastern Connecticut State University and Connecticut College. Awards for his video work include two New England Emmys, an NPPA Best of Photojournalism award and an Editor and Publisher EPPY award.
