High school football is always big for us in the fall. This year, as a preview to our weekly game coverage, I put together preview videos for some of the more prominent teams in the area. I started out on a Friday night at Montville, where I was actually able to get some action during a scrimmage that was part of their jamboree.

For Ledyard, I managed to get out to their practice early and spoke to the coach and a few players before they hit the field. I was glad to get the interviews shot first, because it gave me clear direction as to what and who to focus on during practice.

My schedule didn’t work out quite as nicely in New London, as I arrived right at the start of practice. Luckily I know the team pretty well, so I knew some key players to focus on. I came on a defensive day, which meant I wouldn’t get action shots of the offensive players I’d be focusing on.
