Griswold crash anniversary a ‘day of caring’

Griswold High School is marking the anniversary of a car crash that killed four students last year. The school unveiled a memorial stone inscribed with a message and the names of John Clapper III, Sativa Cornell, Dillon Clifford and Steven Szklarz, who died when the 2007 Nissan Altima they rode in on Route 201 crashed into two trees on Dec. 7, 2010. Behind the stone, on the senior patio off the school?s cafeteria, stands a lamppost with four lights, one for each of the students killed. Joel Gallup, 17, was the lone survivor of the crash.
