I heard about the Coast Guard Academy’s punter/goalie Will Leffler last year when my colleague Mike DiMauro wrote a column about him. I was determined not to miss this opportunity this year, so I had it on my to do list all summer. Turns out there was only one Saturday where soccer and football both had home games, so I immediately cleared my schedule so I could shoot this.

I had imagined following him from the soccer field to the football locker room, but when he took off at a full sprint, I decided I was happy to just get what I could rather than try to run with a camera and tripod while still trying to shoot.
